The time has come now that we open up for accepting new candidates for the General Assembly (GA).
What is GA?The General Assembly is an important organ for our organisation.
Regular
members of the IVAO network are called 'adjoined' members. However,
some chose to be legal members (called 'effective' members) of the IVAO
NPO. We call this the General Assembly - GA (similar to shareholders in a
profit company). They elect, and hold to account, the Board of
Governors. They are responsible for approving IVAO's financial budgets,
and have the power to change the IVAO articles of association, which
dictate how IVAO is operated as an organisation.
How can a GA member contribute to IVAO?Besides
what has been mentioned above, the GA debate, discuss and guide IVAO
policy, changes and improvements as necessary, alongside the BoG in a
special forum. We recognise the value of 'fresh' opinion and a wide
variety of inputs into IVAO, and are increasing the activity and
diversity within the General Assembly. It is an ideal way for members to
get involved with IVAO on a strategic level
Who can apply?Any member of IVAO (over 18) can apply to join the General Assembly
When?You can submit your candidatures between January 6, 2014 and February 15, 2014.
How?You should send a motivation letter towards
vzw@ivao.aero (alias for PRE, VPRE, SECR, ASECR and TREA).
All
candidatures are presented to the present General Assembly members by
means of a dedicated forum. This forum will allow interactions between
the present General Assembly members and the possible future members.
The
next step in the process is the actual election of the candidates
itself. The General Assembly meeting which will decide about the new
applications will be scheduled in February/ March.
After that
meeting all candidates will get the result of their application. This
could be positive or negative. In case of a positive response,
candidates are asked to pay the membership contribution of 15 EUR
(excluding bank or paypal charges payable additionally) within 1 month
of their admission to GA. Also as per Belgium law a copy of your proof
identity (passport) will be required to be submitted to the NPO.
