Dear Members of IVAO,
Candidatures are currently being accepted for the Board of Governors. These candidates will fill seats which that will be vacated by members whose term expires at the end of November, 2017. While NPO membership is desired, it is not a statutory requirement.
Interested candidates shall submit a letter of intent to vzw@ivao.aero as well as a short biography and other information including goals and objectives.

General:
Candidate shall fulfill the requirements in accordance with the existing R&R's of the organization, which you can find here. More information can be obtained from Board of Governors and from the legal documents of the NPO.

Member Board of Governors
Function: Provide governance to the organization, represent it to the community, and accept the ultimate legal responsibility for it.
Responsibilities:
Planning
a. Approve the NPO's philosophy and review management's performance in achieving it.
b. Annually assess the environment and approve the NPO's strategy in relation to it.
c. Review and approve the NPO's five year financial goals.
d. Quarterly review the NPO's budget
e. Quarterly review the NPO's spending.
f. Approve major Policies and Rules and Regulation.
Organisation
a. Elect President, Secretary and Treasurer and such other special officers as may be necessary
b. Elect, monitor, appraise, advise, support, reward, and, if necessary, change executive council.
c. Ensure that management succession is properly being provided.
d. Be ensure that the status of organizational strength and manpower planning is adequate to the requirements of the long range goals.
Operations
a. Review the results achieved by management as compared with the NPO's philosophy, annual and long range goals, and the performance of similar NPOs.
b. Ensure that the financial structure of the NPO is adequate for its current needs and its long-range strategy.
c. Provide candid and constructive criticism, advice, and comments.
d. Approve major actions of the NPO, such as major expenditure and service changes.
Compliance
a. Ensure that published reports properly reflect the operating results and financial condition of the NPO.
b. Ascertain that NPO has established appropriate policies throughout the NPO, and is diligently administering and enforcing those policies.
c. Review compliance with relevant material laws affecting the NPO.
Deadline for acceptance of candidatures: 28 October 2017 at 2359Z. Late applications will be rejected.
